Heard from Nic that "Pirates of the Carribean" is a lousy show, though i felt the trailers looked exciting enough? So is it really lousy or maybe not that bad if we are to watch it with an open mind?
Today was PTM and this time round i made effort to make the meetings less heavy, and try to keep the sessions short and sweet. Instruction given to all teachers are to be aware of the platform for meeting, offer opinion from a professional point of view and try not to teach parenting skills.
Though i agree in certain aspects, but i guess education sometimes transcends more than just professionalism. I heard a teacher friend told me that teaching should be about touching lives (which i agree very much), so what can we do if we were to stop at just academics?
We were quite worried about the new taking over batch of NCOs, about whether they can discharge their duties well, and many plans were made to ensure a smooth takeover. It was a great feeling to know there were really concerned individuals like mr koh and miss lee and even raphael and melvin who made special time for this... i think good results will come if we all work towards a common goal.
Recently as i made research about my tibet trip i read about this african proverb about this sentence: "if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." Such a simple sentence but made so much meaning. It's especially so when it sorta sums up my mental state of mind recently, about understanding everything that has been happening around me so far.... about Kais and his CO in nyjc, about working as a team in mshsnpcc and so on... yeah... i feel if we really want to go far, we really need to go together. Long the time it might take, but it will be time worth taking.
As for passion, i guess we normally have to find ways and means to relive it... there will be times when all feels hopeless and lost. There will be times when we feel nothing is worth doing, but as higher powers made us be, we can always reconsider our possibilities over time. We all have choices though circumstances might not always be what we expect them to be. So choices are what we should make, and results, if they are good will be bonuses! Happy if they are so and move ahead if they are not... hmm.. isn't this the term the main theme from "Meet the Robinsons"?
And did i say i have got butterflies in my stomach because i feel quite ill-prepared to go tibet?
